    Saturday afternoon Music Workshop ♫ with Dr Paul Whittaker, OBE

    Cost for weekend: £160 full board

    Vivien is involved in theological training and education, and is an Anglican lay minister with special care for deaf people. She has recently received a cochlear implant. She enjoys bird-watching.

    Christine, also an Anglican lay minister, is a teacher by profession. She is involved in preaching and parish work. She also is a cochlear implant recipient. Married to a C of E Reverend, she has four married daughters and umpteen grandchildren!

    John is a semi-retired Anglican minister, and the previous Treasurer of Open Ears. He has musical gifts, and leads retreats to the Iona Community in north-west Scotland.

    Dr Paul was born in Huddersfield with a hearing loss, and has been profoundly deaf since the age of eight. He gained important music diplomas while still at school, and is an organist and pianist. He studied Music at Oxford, and later at the Royal Northern College of Music at Manchester. He was awarded an OBE in 2007. He is very involved in promoting music among deaf people.
