50th Anniversary Celebration
We had such a wonderful time at our 50th anniversary celebration on June 15, 2024. Thank you
to all who came;
to those who joined via Zoom (apologies if this did not work well for you, we will aim to improve this for future in person events);
to our speakers, Emily and Bob;
to Mary and Marylin for reminding us of the many people who were pivotal in setting up the charity and who gave so much for many years, the photos they shared of past events brought many smiles, ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ and happy reminiscences:
to Susanne for her tireless typing;
to our BSL interpreters who ministered to us so beautifully;
to Sophie for her impressive organisation of the whole event:
and to all who worked hard behind the scenes to ensure we had such an inclusive and accessible day.
We would love to run more in-person events, so please get in touch to let us know what you would like – where, for how long, what time of year, weekend or mid-week, etc.
You will be able to read more about the celebrations in the upcoming August edition of Hearing Eye. If you don’t already receive a copy, email to request one at info@openears.org.uk You will then be asked to complete and return a GDPR form, allowing us to retain your personal contact details.
Our celebration cake had ‘Jehovah Shammah – the Lord is here’ piped on it, and it was such a true reflection of the day. The Lord was truly present.
